The programme of field trips
In thrid day of the Conference, 26th November (Saturday)
the participants of IMF will have an opportunity to get fa-
miliar with practical aspects of plough longwall operation,
with the used technique and technology of driving he-
adings in LW Bogdanka S.A.
A trip to the bottom of the mine is planned in three ex-
ploitation fields, namely:
Bogdanka,

Nadrybie,
•
Stefanow.
•
The programme of field trips includes:
presentation of development works:
1.
parting of the exploitation field in order to separate
•
the winning, that is separate coal from gangue and
their transport to appropriately chosen destinations;
new types of designs of heading support suitable for
•
longwall exploitation of coal using the plough tech-
nique;
innovative method of reinforcing and stabilizing the
•
sets of the heading support with simultaneous, im-
mediate result – getting the roof supported through
the use of mechanical lining and simultaneous de-
crease of the number of props between the sets and
adjusting the support to the cavity made in by the
roadheader through so-called variable overlap at the
bottom element of the support;
chain-type lining creating continuity of the lining in
•
the headings and ensuring that the roof and side-
walls are sufficiently protected during longwall ex-
ploitation;
new types of pumps for making cement mixes used
•
for filling the lining sacks;
mechanization of near-face transport of materials
•
through the use of manouver tractors that relieve the
traditional transport realized through underslung in-
ternal combustion machines;
change from three-shift system of driving headings
•
to a four-shift system through the use of Self-pro-
pelled Wheel Turning Station and performing length-
ening of the transportation sequence together with
advance made during the shift.

the system of exploitation unit work based on the

use of plough longwall technique for coal exploita-
tion. The plough complex is controlled from the sur-
face and it allows to use such innovative coal seam
exploitation solutions like:
